GIRL OF THE MONTH
Aniya is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade at Perkins Elementary. She has one younger brother, Naija.
Aniya likes playing soccer at home and likes to watch TV. Her favorite show is, “The Amazing World of Gumball.”
She is always helpful and caring. She cleans up after activities and helps others without being asked.
At Girls Inc. she likes learning how to grow broccoli, making stained glass with Ms. Taylor, and learning about fish life cycle.
She would like to be a teacher when she grows up.
Diana is 7 years old and is in 2nd grade at Sacred Heart School. She has one sister named Bella.
Diana likes arts and craft, music and likes watching Jessie and Bunked.
She always helping and volunteering without being asked. She is kind to everyone and is a great role model for her peers.
At Girls Inc. she likes the instructors, playing on the playground and learning about math.
Makayla is 10 years old and is in 5th grade at Starkey Elementary.
Makayla likes to play soccer and four square, and she likes to watch, “So You Think You Can Dance.”
She always follows directions and likes to help out others. She likes learning about architecture and how to build things out of straws with Ms. Taylor. Makayla thinks Girls Inc is really fun!
She would like to be a doctor when she grows up.
Sophia is 10 years old and is in 5th grade at Walsingham Elementary. She has one younger sister, Veda who is 6 years old.
Sophia likes to watch Grey’s Anatomy and play the game Wipe Out on her phone. She is very interested in being a leader and taking initiative to help others out before herself.
She likes eating Ms Kathy’s food, doing experiments in the STEM Lab and working on the computers in the computer lab.
She would like to be a dancer, baker and singer when she grows up!
Kaitlynn is 9 years old and is in 4th grade at Southern Oak Elementary. She has one older brother, Jeremy who is 15.
Kaitlynn likes to play with Xbox and watch TV. She is very friendly and has no problem walking up to a new person and engaging them.
She likes to paint and do art projects. She enjoys doing hip-hop with our dance instructor, Tyler, and generally likes being with her friends at Girls Inc.
The instructors find Kaitlynn to be very well-mannered and polite.
She would like to be a veterinarian when she grows up!
Leila is 10 years old and is in 5th grade at Windsor Prep. She has two brother and two sisters.
Leila likes to play with puppies and play games on an ipad. She is always willing to help without being prompted and likes to help other girls with problem solving and conflict resolution.
She likes that Girls Inc works to prevent bullying and provides homework help. She also feels like she learns a lot.
The instructors find Leila to be respectful and always willing to help! She has a great attitude and is enthusiastic about activities even if they are not her preferred choice.
Madison is 9 years old and is in 4th grade at Westgate Elementary. She has one younger brother, Jayden and she says, “I love him with all my heart!”
Madison has a very enterprising spirit and has done several things for Girls Inc and the community such as a backpack drive benefitting CASA and an art sale she is working on.
Her favorite subjects are Astronomy and math. “I like it at Girls Inc because it is such a community environment and everyone is so friendly.”
The instructors find Madison to be a pleasure to speak with and a wonderful role model for her peers.
Gracyn is 6 years old and is in first grade at Pinellas Central. She has one brother, Nathan who is 13 years old. She likes to play with toys, watch movies with her family and really likes going fishing with her dad.
The staff has observed that Gracyn is always nice and willing to help others. She always listens closely and follows directions.
While attending Girls Inc, Gracyn likes to watch movies, and enjoys the homework group and loves to play group games. Gracyn says she has learned a lot about “no bullying” at Girls Inc and has received homework help with math.
Gracyn would like to be a teacher when she grows up.
Madison is 11 years old and has been attending Girls Inc of Pinellas since summer of 2012. She has three brothers and one sister. She likes to play outside with friends and read books.
The staff has observed that since Madison has been coming to Girls Inc she has really stepped up to help others and volunteer for various tasks at the center.
While attending Girls Inc, Madison likes to watch movies, participate in dance activities and work in the computer lab.
Madison would like to become a gymnast when she grows up.
