Avan Armaghani, MD to Lead Full STEAM Ahead! Programming as They Enter a New Week

Pinellas Park, FL (November 3, 2020) – We are excited to announce that Avan Armaghani, MD, Assistant Member in the Department of Breast Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center will lead the way during the week of November 9th  Full STEAM Ahead! Programming at Girls Inc of Pinellas. This special programming is open to girls in Kindergarten through 12th grades in Pinellas County.

As they enter week five of this ten week programming, the focus shifts to science.   “It is a privilege and pleasure to have Dr. Armaghani collaborate with us during this afterschool programming as we inspire girls to pursue their dreams in the area of medical science”  shared Darla Otey, the Executive Director of Girls Inc of Pinellas.

Dr. Armaghani is an impressive industry leader, having completed her Fellowship and Residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida after earning her Medical Degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine.

This is a wonderful opportunity for girls to learn from such a decorated and accomplished professional who has treated women and men with breast cancer, participated in various research projects, and most recently investigated the effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on stromal tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in breast cancer.

Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is a nonprofit cancer treatment and research center located in Tampa, Florida. Established in 1981 by the Florida Legislature, the hospital opened in October 1986, on the University of South Florida campus.<
