Girls Inc. Leaders Will Honor Past and Focus on Future
On October 1, 2021, a new slate of officers will begin their term with the Girls Inc. of Pinellas Board of Directors. Mercy Ameyaw, Board President, is Director of Municipal Dealer Sales at Raymond James Financial; Molly Longmire, President-Elect, is Deputy Chief of Philanthropy and National Partnerships at Civil Air Patrol; Frank Vitarelli, Treasurer, is Senior Vice President – Market Director at The Bank of Tampa; and Dana Reina, Secretary, is Senior Manager, Cisco Solutions at TD SYNNEX.

This past Saturday a volunteer crew from The Tampa Warriors Hockey Program fulfilled their demolition dreams when they ripped out old cabinets, bookshelves, and kitchen fixtures in the administrative office of Girls Inc. of Pinellas. The crew’s work paves the way for new furnishings and fixtures to be delivered and installed as part of Girl Inc. of Pinellas’ re-model.

Continually reaching out to the community to support their programming and initiatives, Executive Director Darla Otey recently sponsored a “Women in Leadership Power Panel” to encourage and inspire women in the community in early or in-transition business careers. Each panelist offered an overview of their roles and responsibilities. They all spoke to the challenges and realities of sometimes being the sole female among a sea of men in the business world. Chatterton pointed out that women still only make up 21 percent of business executives.
Call to Artists! Girls Inc. of Pinellas Seek Donations for Virtual Art Auction
Girls Inc of Pinellas is seeking donated artwork from local artists who wish to give back by donating a selected piece of art for inclusion in a virtual fundraiser via an Online Auction that will go live each month with a new piece of art. The organization is happy to include information about the artist to accompany the art. Since this is an ongoing monthly virtual auction, a deadline does not apply As long as Girls Inc of Pinellas is receiving the donated art, the monthly auctions will continue on! The virtual event will also be promoted on the Girls Inc of Pinellas social media platforms.
